(New) Sun Landscape #2
8.5” H x 8.5" W
The landscape depicted in this raku tile, as with most of my raku wall pieces, was inspired by the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from my pottery studio near Weaverville, NC. This square ceramic tile was hand built and fired using the raku pottery firing process. It is wired and ready to hang and makes for a wonderful piece in a well lit hallway. Each raku pottery piece in my store was either thrown and created on the potter's wheel or hand built. The raku glazes were then poured, sprayed and/or painted on each tile.
All of my raku glaze recipes were developed myself, which to me makes the work more personal and more intimate. I love glaze chemistry and continue to discover exciting new features and colors to add to my raku pottery.
