This raku pottery globe was thrown on the wheel.  After bisque firing, it was glazed with my proprietary Space Rock glaze combination and raku fired. When cool more glaze was added and the piece was raku fired a second time. After cooling the textured surface was abraded.  I love using my own glaze recipes that add creative variations to each raku piece, which to me, makes my raku pottery work more distinctive and more intimate.  These exceptional glazes were applied to the vase until I was happy with the color and textures and how they integrate with the design of the raku pottery.  A sure conversation starter and a definite eye catcher! With its reflective, luminous properties, it is the perfect raku pottery for your front entry way, hallway or as a standalone centerpiece.
