Building a Raku Pottery Vase
This colorful vase was thrown on the wheel and altered. After drying, it was then fired in the bisque kiln and cooled. I applied various proprietary glazes by pouring, spraying and painting them on. The pottery is then raku fired to get the design elements I am looking for. These special glazes help highlight the vibrant design, colors and textures of the raku pottery. The dazzling mix of colors are subject to the amount of reduction allowed during the raku firing and cooling.
