This ovoid was thrown on the potter’s wheel and when leather hard it as trimmed upside down. After drying it was bisque fired. It was then glazed with layered proprietary glazes and raku fired. After it cooled, it was abraded with a hand grinder to remove the thin shell, revealing the jewel-like surface. It is water sealed inside with liquid silicone.
