(New) Celestial Bodies #3
18”W x 3”D
This platter was created from a slab of raku clay and altered on the wheel when wet. After bisque firing, it was glazed with proprietary glazes and commercial underglazes. It was raku fired and after cooling some of the glaze was abraded. Tabs were then chemically bonded to the back and hold a 30# test, twisted stainless steel wire for hanging. Or they can act as feet if one desires to display it on a flat, horizontal surface.
More Raku Pottery Vessels
I sprayed, painted and poured my own special glazes in order to highlight the underlying design and textures. Each raku platter that I create is unique and no two pieces are alike.
