This globe was thrown, altered and trimmed on the potter’s wheel. After drying it was bisque fired. The band was first painted with my gold glaze and after drying a coating of wax resist was applied. Proprietary glazes were then layered on the piece and it was raku fired.

As I spray, paint and pour my glazes, I am able to transform the raku piece and create multiple layers and unique characteristics. This ensures that while some of my work may share different properties and textures, no two pottery pieces are alike.
