(New) Copper Teardrop
12"W x 22"H
This copper raku sculpture was hand built using the Amerian raku pottery process. Its texture and colors are like nothing I’ve done before. It was first developed on the potter’s wheel and altered before being fired. Special proprietary glazes and underglazes were then applied before it was raku fired. Creating my own glaze recipes makes the work more personal and more intimate.
The most common combustibles used with my raku pottery are organic materials such as leaves, straw, sawdust, or paper. Once I apply them to each pottery piece, they melt in the firing and leave some truly spectacular results. This is a very unique ceramic teardrop and makes a wonderful entrance piece for any interior setting.
