Blue Green Landscape Platter
17"W x 4"D | Wired for Hanging
This stunning ceramic platter was hand built before being fired in the bisque kiln and cooled. Then the pattern is drawn on with a pencil. Using the pattern as a guide, I then apply my own underglazes and glazes in the desired areas. The glazes are sprayed, poured and/or painted on. My pottery glazes are proprietary recipes I developed which to me makes the process more intimate and personal.
The different blue and green hues as well as the “space rock” textures that you see are the results of the various glazes used. The raku firing process creates the final product and is dependent on the amount of reduction allowed during the firing and cooling. The back is wired for hanging or the piece can also enhance any table by lying flat.
