(New) Blue Green Landscape Platter
17"W x 4"D | Wired for Hanging
This stunning ceramic platter was first hand shaped before being fired in the kiln and cooled. After bisque firing the piece in the kiln and cone cooled, the pattern is drawn on with a pencil. Using the pattern as a guide, I then apply my own underglazes and glazes in the desired areas. The glazes are sprayed, poured and/or painted on the pieces. My pottery glazes are proprietary using different combustibles which to me makes the process more intimate and personal. The different blue and green hues as well as the space rock textures that you see are the results of the different glazes and underglazes used in the raku firing process and are dependent on the amount of oxygen allowed during the firing and cooling.
