3rd Annual 50th Firing Kiln Opening coming July 24!

This is my first post of this kiln opening season.  I find that I don’t read blogs unless they’re posted every day or nearly every day.  By those standards, this blog would be a total failure.  However, if anyone is reading this, I’m grateful.  As many of you know, my work is always changing, as I get bored easily.  This year has been no exception.  Many of the 50 firings are repeat firings, where some of the pieces will be raku fired as many as 5 times. Consequently, I’m going to have more than 50 firings, but so be it.  I’m excited about many of the pieces that are turning out!  I’ve attached two of them for your perusal.    Green Comet is 16 inches wide and Unihorn is 46 inches high.  Let me know what you think.

    Steven,

We left Greenville, SC on 4/6 and are still out on the road. We’ve travelled most of the Southwest and are now hiking, biking and kayking in Idaho with friends from Rutherfordton, NC. Beautiful country. On 8/11 we will head up to Glacier National Park for several days before heading to Massachusetts to see our kids and family, travelling across country on Route 2. Back to Greenville by mid August, so we will unfortunately have to miss your opening. Hope to see you next firing.
